Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief Coordinator Seeman has indicated that he will enter the fray in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly by-election.

[Tiruppur]: Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief Coordinator Seeman has indicated that he will contest the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly by-election. Speaking at a public event held in Tiruppur, he expressed his position on the matter.

Addressing the gathering in Tiruppur, Seeman said that he was neither a king nor the son of a minister, and that people would not immediately come and vote for him simply because he called upon them. However, he pointed out that despite his defeat in the last election, two million people had voted for him and continued to support his political journey.

He also shared an incident that took place when he attended the 30th-day memorial event of the late film director Bharathiraja. He said that an elderly man, who was about the same age as his father, had expressed his wish that Seeman should at least enter the Legislative Assembly along with 50 members. Since that had not happened, the elderly man earnestly urged him to contest at least in the by-election and enter the Assembly as an MLA.

Responding to the elderly man’s heartfelt request, Seeman said he smilingly assured him that he would definitely enter the Legislative Assembly. He also shared on stage that the elderly man had wished to see him enter the Assembly with a smile. His public sharing of this incident has been viewed as a clear indication that he intends to contest the upcoming by-election.

In the recently concluded Legislative Assembly election, Naam Tamilar Katchi contested independently in all 234 constituencies but suffered a heavy defeat. Following this, amid various political developments, including the resignation of MLAs, political circles had recently speculated that Seeman could be fielded as a common candidate against TVK in the by-election.

In the current political scenario, Seeman’s speech in Tiruppur is being seen as confirming that he will directly contest the upcoming Legislative Assembly by-election. This has created fresh expectations and political excitement in Tamil Nadu ahead of the forthcoming by-election.
