Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi, bringing together Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, Union Ministers, and senior policymakers from across the country. As the apex platform for cooperative federalism, the meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Centre and States to accelerate India’s progress toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The central theme of the Niti Aayog meeting, “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat @2047,” emphasized the importance of ensuring growth and opportunities for every citizen regardless of region, gender, age, or socio-economic status. The discussions highlighted the need for a people-centric development model that prioritizes education, healthcare, skill development, employment generation, and social equity while fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Deliberations were structured around four key pillars: Foundational Human Capital and Future-Ready Skills, Productive Employment and Entrepreneurship, Health and Wellbeing, and Equity and Dignity for All. Leaders explored strategies to strengthen skilling ecosystems, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, create quality jobs, and improve access to healthcare and nutrition. The meeting underscored the importance of empowering citizens with the capabilities needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving economy.
The Governing Council also reviewed recommendations from the 5th National Conference of Chief Secretaries and discussed an implementation roadmap supported by governance reforms, data-driven decision-making, and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). With clear mechanisms for monitoring outcomes and ensuring accountability, the meeting aimed to align state-level development priorities with national objectives, laying a strong foundation for an inclusive, resilient, and prosperous Viksit Bharat by 2047.
