ISRO launched the heaviest Communication Satellite. LVM3M5 carried the CMS 03 satellite and placed it in the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). Dubbed Bahubali for its heavy lift capacity, it launched the satellite from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
History of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
ISRO was established in August 1969. The first satellite launched by it was Aryabhatta. The Soviet Union helped to launch this satellite in 1975. In July 1980, India’s Satellite Launch Vehicle-3 placed Rohini, the first Indian satellite, into orbit.. ISRO is headquartered in Bengaluru.
